I understand your struggle because I’ve been in your shoes. I was a mom to 3 young daughters and was extremely busy as the children’s director of a thriving church, volunteering in their schools, and had a calendar booked with activities almost every night from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
Despite that, or maybe because of it, I decided to Reclaim Christmas!

Most of all, they experienced God’s presence as we read his Word to us and as we prayed together!

Here’s one of my favorite children’s activities: the reading is around the Israelites’ preparation to exodus Egypt after they painted the lamb’s blood around their doorposts. The suggestion is to eat dinner standing up with your coats on and then to walk around the block. I guarantee you they will never forget that experience as it puts legs (literally) on an important moment in our faith history.
These simple activities take Advent from Information into Transformation!

It’s like breathing into the oxygen mask first and then putting it on your children so everyone is breathing in the pure wind of the Holy Spirit, becoming revived and renewed to Reclaim Christmas by putting your focus back on Christ; the greatest Christmas gift of all!
