Good Trouble Trip “partnership request letter”

Dear Family and Friends,
Several months ago, Dana, Shirley and I started meeting to plan a Reclamation Trip to Alabama. We call ourselves the Good Trouble Group because we are planning to bring some “good trouble” to the roots of oppression, injustice and racism and reclaim them in the spiritual realm to release freedom, justice and unity instead.
This is an unusual experience because we are going as a mixed color team of blacks and whites. We feel this is very important because when we come together as “one in the family of God,” instead of focusing on our differences as people groups, we can overcome the strongholds that have kept our races separate and divided.
We aren’t going to bring attention to ourselves in the natural realm. We are going as kingdom ambassadors to do the secret work in the heavenly realm that can shift atmosphere’s and trajectories of history. We understand that in the kingdom realm, one simple act can have profound implications!
As Shirley’s friends, Dana and I are going to learn and experience more in the state where the Civil Rights movement was born. We understand that once our eyes are opened, we can never be ignorant or complicit again, nor will we ever want to be..
Some of the areas we will visit include: Tamara’s ancestor’s land just north of Alabama in Franklin County where many generations ago, my great grandfather (5 generations ago), built a plantation and owned slaves. When I discovered this in 2008, I knew then that I wanted to find that land to reclaim it. It’s finally happening!
The following day we will head to Birmingham, Montgomery and end by walking the bridge in Selma where our nation finally had to reckon with the injustice Blacks had experienced throughout history in the US. Shirley has a call to walk that bridge with white sisters on both sides. With each step we take, we believe that greater freedom and unity will be released.
I am attaching more of what we will experience in Alabama. Take some time to go through it and discover the treasures of history that are available to all of us.
